Hello to all of 555 Arts existing and new supporters!
We hope your summer is going well and filled with as much fun as we have been having! We wanted to touch base and fill everyone in on the exciting new projects of 2019 and beyond that 555 Arts has been hard at work on!
We have been busy with our new summer and fall series of metal pouring events called The Iron Ages! The Iron Ages is an exploration of foundry and metal art practices through an art historical lense. We have been warming up the furnaces to pour aluminum, bronze, copper and then finally, Iron in October! This series has been focusing on our collective fundraising efforts for the artists in residency house renovation currently underway and honoring the legacy of the influential metal artist, Casey Westbrook.
Going forward, 555 Arts is excited to be offering workshops led by our artists in residence, a new outdoor gallery space and we are also working on a large scale installation project inspired by Meow Wolf!
